Apprenticeship Service Project

Apprenticeship Students are collecting towels and blankets for the animals at the Fayetteville Animal Shelter.  The animals are sleeping on cold concrete and freezing.  Please drop off your donations in Bates 203.  They are also accepting unopened cat and dog food. Please help us with this project.  Just grab a towel or old blanket that can be rewashed  and drop it off at Bates.  THANKS

Apprenticeship Update

February 5th, 2009

Please help us with the recuiting of new students for Apprenticeship 2010-2011.  Only Seniors are eligible to apply.  Here is the step-by-step procedure for applying for the Apprenticeship Program:

1.  Pick up packet from the Apprenticeship Office in Bates 203 or in the counselor’s office.

2.  Complete the information and make sure the employer agreement is signed by your supervisor at work.

3.  Turn in the completed packet to Mr. Price.

4.  Continue to check back with Mr. Price about acceptance into Apprenticeship.

5.  Upon acceptance, bring your paperwork to Dr. McGinty in the Apprenticeship Office in Bates 203. 

6.  Go over procedures for paperwork and pick up an Apprenticeship T-Shirt.

Apprenticeship Student Recruitment

We are accepting new Apprenticeship students in our program.  Please stop by Bates 203 and pick up an application packet and an employer packet.  Then take the completed packet back to the principal, Jim Price, for admission into the program.  Students must have a signed employer agreement.  If you have questions, contact Dr. McGinty at 479-790-7151 or email her at phyllis.mcginty@fayar.net.

Economic Impact of the Fayetteville Apprenticeship Program

Fayetteville students generated $433,000 in 2007-2008 by working in our local businesses. Fayetteville students generated approximately $50,000 per semester during 2009.  Changes were made in the Apprenticeship program and only 30 students were allowed to enroll instead of the 200 students enrolled previously.  Also, only seniors could enroll instead of juniors and seniors as in previous years.
